Night and Day Globe

Not only an impressive work of engineering, but a fascinating and accurate scientific tool. Designed by Fabien Vienne, the Night and Day Globe is an impressive decoration, and a wonderful tool, that allows you to step off our planet and watch it work from above.
Once the globe is plugged into the mains, the interlocking gears allow it to reproduce the Earths movement and we can see the changes that happen across the globe as day turns to night and summer to winter. Watch the differences between the two hemispheres and find out which parts of the world don’t see the sun, or have 24 hour daytime. The discs at the bottom of the globe mark time, date, and seasons, illustrating the many changes that take place across the world, from seasonal ones to the small differences that an hour can make.
