Kereru Soft Toy With Real Sound Small

The Kereru, or New Zealand Wood Pigeon, is a large bird and an important seed disperser, being the only fruit-eater capable of swallowing large native tree seed such a Karaka, Nikau, Puriri, to name a few. The head, throat, and upper body of this bird are a striking green colour which contrasts with the clean white stomach, and crimson bill, eyes, and feet. It's "coo" call is soft but penetrating. Kereru can measure up to 51cm from tail to beak, and weigh about 650g. They usually lay one egg in a flimsy nest but may lay up to three times in a season, having a large chick in one nest and be incubating an egg in another nest nearby.
